The traditional settlement of Kromni

Kromni is a preserved settlement on mount Paikon. Perched at 580 meters it still retains the marks of its history in its stone houses. The residents, mostly lumberjacks and livestock keepers survived with sufficiency even in troublesome times. During the Nazi occupation it was hideout for the Greek resistance army. Due to the difficulty occupation forces never got there. Later, in the early 1970s, this same reason leads to its abandonment. The residents were resettled in the village of Neos Mylotopos. The deserted stone houses, the old school, the church of St. Nicholas (1858), are original sources that vividly depict life in the prewar years.

Recommended access road via Neos Mylotopos. The village has no food services or accommodation.
